Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1911 Sanborn, in an old commercial building. This had been constructed sometime before 1885 as a general store, and had a stone ground floor with a brick upper story. The 1905 map shows a harness shop here.

This may have been known as the Majestic Theatre, in which case it was demolished in 1936 to be replaced by the Major Theatre, on the south side of the square. At any rate, it was torn down long ago and replaced by a gas station, which is itself now gone. The lot is covered parking, which probably belonged to the old dealership next door.
