Derby Theatre

Gary Amusement Company opened the Derby Theatre on October 30, 1909. Located in a storefront at 756 Broadway, it offered entertainment at a ten-cent price point. The company also operated the first Broadway Theatre, a five-cent showplace, twenty-five feet to the south. The Derby Theatre closed in 1912.

The buildings that hosted the Broadway Theatre and Derby Theatre still stand on Broadway across the street from the long-shuttered Eberson-designed Palace Theatre.
