Construction of Studio Cinema located in the Tradeway Shopping Center started earlier in 1975 but was delayed for six months due to change of operators.
First operated by Powell Enterprises who also operated both the Kentucky Theatre and the Virginia Cinema in Somerset, Monticello’s Studio Cinema opened its doors in mid-August 1975.
The Studio Cinema closed in April 1997.
