The Regal Ormond Beach 12 cinema, which first welcomed moviegoers on May 22, 1996, ceased operations on October 8, 2020. Back in 1998, there were ambitious plans to expand the theater to twenty screens from its original twelve. However, the town authorities declined to grant the necessary permit for this expansion. In 2024, the fate of the Regal Ormond Beach 12 lies in the hands of progress: it is slated for demolition to make way for an apartment complex.
