Opened by General Drive-In Corp. on January 11, 1961 as the 1,200-seat New Cinema Theatre. The theatre was twinned on June 14, 1974 and reopened as the Bellair Plaza Cinema I & II. Went under the AMC banner in 1982.
The Bellair Cinema I & II closed in 1987 and was later demolished.

I posted the grand opening ad from January 11th, 1961 and from 1970 here.
The correct year when AMC took over operations was 1982.
I fondly remember this cinema and the shopping plaza. When my parents used to vacation in Daytona Beach, this plaza was always a destination a couple times during our stay. My parents took us to see The Beatles' HELP here. The last first run movie I ever saw at the cinema was JAWS.
