The Filmgarde Bugis+, then known as Filmgarde Iluma, first opened its doors in March 2009 with 8 screens and 1,383 seats as its second location after its first branch at Leisure Park Kallang, which opened a year prior.
It was shuttered in February 2022, as part of Filmgarde Cineplexes’s plans to rationalise its operations in response to the changing tastes of moviegoers. The cinema premises was then leased to Golden Village as its 15th location.
GV Bugis+ opened on 10th March 2023, featuring six regular halls and two Gold Class Express halls. A Spanish themed bistro, Azul, is located at the entrance to the cinema halls and is patronised by moviegoers and the public alike.
