The Virgin Cinemas Ebina opened its doors on April 19, 2002 with 10 screens (all THX-certified) and a capacity of 2,198 seats.
Virgin only operated the theatre for less than a couple of years due to its management and operations transferred from Virgin Cinemas Japan to TOHO Cinemas on April 7, 2003. It would eventually be renamed as the TOHO Cinemas Ebina on February 28, 2004.
Screen 1 was the largest with 633 seats and four wheelchairs, while the other screens have two wheelchairs with a ranging capacities of 92 to 301. Screen 10 originally housed a Premier Screen but was abolished on March 24, 2009 when it was renovated to a normal screen. The theater’s smallest auditorium, Screen 4, features installations of MX4D.
As of January 2024, Screen 1 became the second largest operating auditorium with the most seats as an existing movie theater in all of Japan behind the TOHO Cinemas Umeda in Osaka.
