703-705 Lake Avenue,
No one has favorited this theater yet
This wooden structure was built sometime around 1889, and was then well north of the main downtown. It was clad in tin, and had a large balcony. It screened its first movie in 1900. The town does not appear in the 1905 Cahn guide.
At some point, movies began to be shown regularly, and this continued up until 1916, when it was destroyed in a fire. The attractive Prairie style commercial building on the site today must have been built shortly thereafter.
