The 1913 Sanborn shows a ‘Moving Picture Theatre’ in the northern half of an old two story wooden building. The structure dated to sometime before 1893, and was originally the Masonic Lodge on the south, and the Washington County courthouse on the north side.
In 1909, the current courthouse was constructed, so the theater could have opened any time after that. The Akron Theatre was opened by early-1913 and was still open 1926. It had closed by 1931. The building still exists on the 1937 map, but the theater has been replaced by a store. Sometime around 1940-50, the building was replaced by a drab little storefront which currently occupies the corner.

Note that Main was called Greely until at least 1937.
Akron, Colorado was mentioned in the January 4, 1913 issue of Moving Picture World, but the name of the theater was not given. However, a Mr. Al C. Stewart might have been the previous owner or manager of this house. He had lately moved to Pendleton, Oregon, and by 1923 would be running the Empire Theatre in Waitsburg, Washington.
