Located in the city centre on the narrow Avenham Street, where the bulk of the auditorium of the New Victoria Cinema/Gaumont/Odeon was located (destroyed by fire on 19th May 2022). The Embee Hall was previously an old mill building. It was screening films by September 1908. It was also used as a roller skating rink. It was screening films in March 1910 when it was known as Pictureland. It was still open as a cinema in 1914 as the Embee Theatre.

The building in 2022 contains Angelos Pizzaria restaurant.
