Haubert Theatre

The Haubert Theatre was opened on July 4, 1925, it was reported as still showing silent movies in 1931 although it had been equipped to screen sound films which were screened every Wednesday and Sunday and the name of the theatre was changed to Stock Talkies for a while, before reverting back to the Haubert Theatre name. It was then listed as closed through 1937 reappearing in 1938. In 1950’s seating was reported as 400.

In the late-1950’s references to “South Pacific” and “Gigi” being screened have been found. It closed as a movie theatre in the late-1960’s.

After the theatre closed it was a venue for Summer Stock until it burnt down.
