The Imperial Valley Press noted the opening of the Majestic Theatre by M.W. Stralee June 8, 1916, with the movie “The Regeneration” staring Rockcliffe Fellowes and Anna Q. Nilsson. It was advertised in the Press as holding wrestling matches on selected evenings.
The theatre was destroyed by fire in 1920 and rebuilt as a garage, stores and apartments in 1924 and again on August 23, 1983, another fire burned the building.
The building may have been rebuilt again. A reader writing in the Imperial Valley Press July 26. 2010, bemoaning the loss of historic structures, noted the building still existed. The actual demolition date is unknown but its currently a vacant lot.
