The Princess Theatre was opened on September 1, 1911 by J.C. Miller. It was moved to a new location at 209 Main Street on April 1, 1914 and has its own page on Cinema Treasures.
This Princess Theatre remained dark until March 5, 1915 when it reopened as the Strand Theatre, operating on Saturday & Sunday only. It was closed on August 6, 1916 with Victor Moore in “Chimmie Fadden Out West”.

The only headline I can find about the Strand is that the one-and-only Marengo native Mr. John C. Miller operated the Strand until December 1918 when the theater was purchased by C.W. Ritt, who was a former news depot in Woodstock, as the Strand was undergoing some extensive changes.
Mr. John C. Miller along with his wife Mrs. John C. Miller would later open up the famous Miller Theatre (named after themselves) almost a decade later on November 8, 1927.
This venue opened as the Princess Theatre on September 1, 1911. John C. Miller moved to a new location reopening the Princess on April 1, 1914. This theatre remained dark from 1914 until reopening just for Saturday and Sunday screenings as the Strand Theatre on March 5, 1916.
