Cines Florida (Official)
Previous Names: Teatro Florida, Cine Florida
Originally the Teatro Circo, it was reconstructed following a fire on 12th March 1926 and opened as the Teatro Florida. It was renovated to the plans of architect Emilio de Apraiz y Buesa and reopened as the 1,338-seat Cine Florida on 15th November 1947 with Merle Obreron in “This Love of Ours”. It was closed in 1985.
New owners took over in 1998 and it was converted into a 700-seat, 5-screen cinema to the plans of architects Enrique Guinea Garcia & Jesus del Campo San Vincente. In 2001 it was expanded to 7-screens with 798 seats. It became part of the Europa Cinema group of independent art house cinemas in 2004
