The American Theatre was in operation at least through the late-1930’s and on up until September 28, 1962 when it went under the banner of the Beaux Arts Theatre. By 2007 it had become Maxim’s Restaurant which had closed by 2016. By 2017 it had become the Black and Tan Hall which had closed by 2021. The building still exists but, at least on the exterior, it no longer resembles a theatre and some building work was being carried out in 2023.
