Located in Windermere, Westmorland (Cumbria) in the Lake District. The Cinema was opened in the late-1910’s. Around 1930 it was equipped with a British Acoustic(BA) sound system. It was operated by Windermere & Ambleside Cinema Co. Ltd. It was equipped with CinemaScope in 1955. It was closed around 1959 and by the 1980’s it had been converted into flats.

Jim Watson in his books “Lakeland towns” (1992) and “My lakeland” (2022) mentions the Embassy Cinema occupying the former Acme House at the northern junction of Crescent Road and Main Street. The building now houses Brown Sugar, a restaurant and bar.
