On June 2, 1977, Cineplex Theatres (of Texas, not Canada) opened the Southwest Cinema 4, which was taken over by United Artists in 1984 and expanded to seven screens on October 23, 1987. Wallace Theatres, doing business as Hollywood Theatres, bought it in November 1996 and sold it to Premiere Cinema Corporation in 2000, before closing on July 5, 2005.
