O.W. Blagg, in an endorsement of the American Standard Motion Picture Machine, in Moving Picture World, March 30, 1915, wrote he had been using the machine for the last seven years.
The first Perris Theatre was listed on Sanborn Maps 1914 and it was possibly the Perris Opera House listed in American Motion Picture Directory 1914-15. After going through a few owners, the Riverside Daily Press reported February 17, 1917, William Martin of the Hemet theatre had leased the theatre to reopen in March after putting down a concrete floor.
The maps of 1926 show the theatre gone and replaced by a bakery.
According to Motion Picture Daily, October 6, 1940, the next Perris Theatre (address unknown) was opened by I.H. McDowell and Tom Sharpe and was listed in Film Daily Year Book 1941-46 with 250 seats.
On July 4, 1942, Motion Picture Herald reported Mr. Sharpe succeeded Mr. McDowell as the owner. Tom Sharpe is known for opening the new Perris Theatre on April 18, 1946.
