Appearing on the 1921 Sanborn, this may have been a purpose built theatre. The 1913 map shows the lot partially occupied by the Chicago Hotel, a small wooden structure. The façade was rather old-fashioned, a simple flat front of brick over cast iron columns.
The building was one story, built of brick. The central entrance was flanked by two very small retail spaces, with a transverse hallway between these and the auditorium.
The theatre seems to have closed by 1932, when it may have been used for storage. The 1940 update shows it as a store, and this is on a slip of paper pasted onto the 1932 map, partially obscuring the note.
The building today appears to be in use as offices or retail.

Prior to the construction of the Citadel Theatre in late 1921, the only theaters I’ve found mentioned in The Bloomfield News are the Opera House and a house called the Colonial Theatre. The Colonial is mentioned as far back as 1911, though, so if this building did not exist in 1913 then perhaps the Colonial’s original location was the unidentified storefront theater on the ground floor of the Opera House.
