In Taunton, Somerset, the Corn Exchange opened on the Market Place & Fore Street as a fish market in 1854. It opened as the Picturedrome in the Exchange Rooms on March 14, 1910. During World War I it was known as the Exchange Electric Theatre.

By the early-1920’s the cinema had become known as the Exchange Picture House.

By the late-1920’s it was being operated by Mrs F. R. Rouse. She installed a sound-on-disc sound system, but the Exchange Picture House closed in 1933.

The building was demolished in 1937.
