Located in Staybridge, Cheshire. The New Princes Cinema was opened in the late-1920’s. Around 1930 it was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system. It was closed by 1963 and was converted into the Cosmo Bingo Club. It was closed in the early-1980’s following a fire in the building.

This cinema is now demolished. The buildings to the right are still there. The shop front is now the Battered Friar fish and chip shop and the furthest right is the Wharf Tavern pub. If you look in the photos there is a very interesting and tragic story from a publicity stunt that went wrong.
Last operated as Cosmo Bingo by the Downs family, they opened this venue upon the closure of their club in the former Empire, Mossley. Closed early 1980’s following a fire.
