A note in the August 22, 1953 issue of Boxoffice read, “Ashley Burnett of Springhill, N. B. … is offering milk and cream from his own herd of cows at his drive-in theatre, located on a farm he has operated for some years about five miles north (sic) of Fredericton on the St. John river bank. Incidentally, this was the first open-air film theatre in the maritimes.”
Springhill is on the St. John River, about five miles west of Fredericton.
The 1955 Motion Picture and Television Almanac listed the Valley Drive-In in Springhill with a capacity of 400 cars, owner Ashley Burnett.
