As a result of his success with the Kozy Motion Picture House John Keon also opened the Comique Theatre which had seating for 226. Business was so good that he brought his brother, William, into the operation and expanded the seating to 500.
The Koen brothers then went on to operate a number of theatres in and around Salem.
The Comique Theatre was still operational in 1927 but closed in 1929 during the Great Depression.
It reopened in 1931 as the Rialto Theatre which closed in 1943.

The Comique Theatre is listed under Salem, Mass. in the 1927 Film daily Yearbook as having 600 seats and operating 7 days per week.
Theatre was listed in the Salem City Directory until 1929.
Listed as the Rialto from 1931 -`1943. Address listed as vacant in 1944.
