Located in southern Germany in the small town of Schwabisch Gmund, east of Stuttgart. The Rex Filmtheater was opened in 1956 with 680-seats. It was operated by FTB Hoffmann based in Goeppingen. The projectors were by Phillips. Around 1991 Filmtheater Betriebe Huttenlocher took over. The cinema was divided into 3-screens name: Camera 98-seats, Cinema 84-seats & Rex 231-seats.
In 2002 the cinema was connected with a lobby to the cinema next door named Turm Theater, which was also operated by Huttenlocher Filmtheater Betriebe. The new miniplex cinema was named Turm Theater Center Kino.
In 2018 the Traumpalast Lochmann Filmtheater Betriebe took over and modernised the miniplex. It was re-opened on 12th December 2019 and re-named Traumpalast Schwabisch Gmund which its own page on Cinema Treasures.

This cinema was closed and demolished to build the new Traumpalast kino that is connected with the old cinema building of the ‘Turm theatre center kino’ at the pfeiffergäsle, to form a new compex of 10 theatres! The entrance at the pfeiffergäsle is now a restaurant.
