Located in the Altstadt-Lehe district of the city centre. The Filmmuseum was opened in late-1963 and is part of the Muenchner Stadtmuseum. In the 1970’s it was operated by Enno Patalas. The Dok Festival, Filmfest Munchen and Internationales Festival der Filmhochschulen take place at the Filmmuseum. Many classic films and independent movies are screened. The cinema is very well known internationally for its film archive of over 60,000 movies. It is equipped with 16mm, 35mm & 70mm film and also digital projection. All the movies are screened in their original language versions. It is now operated by Stefan Droessler.
