It was a 35.000 square foot theatre complex.Will seat 2300 people.Large Screen for 70mm.

The building wasn’t completely demolished. It currently stands as an Indian restaurant/banquet (Shikara Restaurant / Ashyana Banquets).
Check out the restaurant sometime. The food’s pretty decent, and you can kinda tell it used to be a theatre (from the left hallway to the room itself).
It seems odd that a 15 year old building would be demolished. But then again, considering our “throw-away” society, maybe not. Could this building have been re-used for anything? Likely not.
River Oaks 1-6 is still around. Rivertree Court is now owned by Kerasotes, but may close when they open a 12 screen showplace at the nearby Hawthorne Mall. And Bloomingdale Court is still open by Village…at least until Century Theatres/Cinemark opens the 16 screener inside Stratford Square.
This is another fine example of a short-lived Cineplex-Odeon Theatre biting the dust. Are ANY of the multi-plexes that C-O opened up between 1986 and 1990 in the Chicagoland Area still open as movie theatres? I can only name the Lincoln Village and the North Riverside, now both operated by Village Theatres. Others like the Burnham, the Bricktown, the Ridge, and the Town & Country came and went so quickly.

Well, it was good while it lasted. But still, this could have been a good 2nd run house but that’s okay, I love the nearby Cinemark at Seven Bridges and Loews Woodridge 18 so that’s great.
The last movies I saw here were “BAD MOON” & “SCREAM"
back in late 1996.
