The Gaslight Cinema was located in the vicinity of the still operating live performance Gaslight Theater (358 N. Boyle Avenue), but apparently about a block away in the Musical Arts Building. It was opened on November 25, 1963 with Melina Mercouri in “The Gypsy and the Gentleman”. The only evidence I have of its existence is a newspaper advertisement for John Cassavetes' film “Shadows”, which was released in 1959. It was closed on December 12, 1965 with Volker Bohnet in “The Bridge”.
