Corral Drive-In

BoxOffice reported on May 20, 1950, “The 370-car, $60,000 Corral Drive-In has been opened by Corral Drive-In, Inc. on Highway 99W east of (McMinnville). The drive-in was built by Western Theatre Equipment Co. C. J. Briggs is general manager of the owning firm”.

A 1970 aerial photo showed the Corral Drive-In ramps and projection booth in place but its screen gone. Nothing remains of the drive-in today; a Wilco Farm Store occupies the site.

Boxoffice, Dec. 3, 1949: “McMINNVILLE, ORE. - The 450-car drive-in theatre being erected here by Clifford Briggs is nearing completion, but it probably will not be operated until next spring. The screen tower and a building which will house the projection booth have been completed. When ready for opening, the theatre will have cost approximately $50,000.”
