The Drive-In was proposed in July 1955, but met with strong opposition and it is thought that it was never built or opened.

Not sure the drive-in was ever built, though there was a long-standing controversy over the construction of one. Many articles appear in the Bristol Phoenix during this time on that subject. I posted one in the photo section.
I also agree that it was never actually built. The two proposed locations (Gooding Rd and Tupelo St) show no signs at all of any drive-in construction.
