This opened on October 16, 1992 by Senator Lamar E. Gwaltney (D) from Las Cruces, New Mexico and his son, Andy to face Famous Players and Cineplex Odeon head-on as a discount cinema. In 1994 Cinemark takes it over marking its entry into Canada. Sold to Cinema City along with the Movies 12 in 1999 and to Cineplex Entertainment, who closed it on July 12, 2007.
