The Cinemonde-Opera was opened on 22nd April 1939 with “Marajo”. It was located opposite the Paramount Opera. Seating was provided for 400 in orchestra & balcony levels.
In 1979 it was converted into three screens with seating for 95, 100 & 120 and was merged with the adjacent Gaumont-Opera Francais and lost its identity. It was closed on 9th December 2018. In April 2019 it was being prepared for demolition.
