The success of Cenzia Drive-In moved Paul Poag and his Val Verde Theatre Circuit to launch a second drive-in two years later in 1951. The Gay 90 Drive-In Theatre was named after the Gay 90 neighborhood in which it was built adjoining Highway 90.
The Gay 90 Drive-In was operated by Rowley United by 1955. It was a successful drive-in operating for its entire 30-year lease. The Gay 90 got one more year closing in 1982 with its final year showing Spanish language films. Hopes to reopen it in 1988 failed. It was later demolished becoming a retail pad site.
