The first Lyric Theatre opened July 24, 1920 with “The Courage of Marge O'Doone”. Located at 101 N. Grand Avenue, the Lyric Theatre closed May 17, 1923 to become a car repair shop.
On May 26, 1923 the Lyric Theatre moved to Dooley Hall at 105 N. Grand Avenue continuing upstairs. The 100-seat theatre operated until January 10, 1929 when the New Lyric Theatre launched.
