Victoria Theater

Opened on December 28, 1872 as the Danville Opera House in the second floor of a newly constructed building in the corner of Mill Street and East Mahoning Street. In 1920, the name was changed to Victoria Theater. On March 7, 1931, the final movie performance, “The Great Meadow” starring Johnny Mack Brown and Eleanor Boardman, was shown and the building went dark for good. It was razed in 1937, ending a 64 years run. The present Danville Post Office building now sits on the site.
