The Soledad Theater and Roof Garden opened on Saturday August 19, 1911 with 2,000 seats in the main auditorium and 1,500 seats in the Roof Garden (also had a dance room). The Roof Garden was the first open air theater opened in Texas. Both auditoriums were under the management of W.J.Lytle. The theater closed in 1915 and was transformed into a skating rink, first of its class built in the city.
