Woodfield Theatres 1 & 2

Woodfield Theatres 1 & 2 were stand alone theatres located outside the mall. Opened July 30, 1971 with Walter Matthau in “A New Leaf” and Brian Keith in “Scandalous John”. They were equipped with 70mm projection equipment. They were later joined by Woodfield Theatres 3 & 4, again stand alone outside the mall. Both of these twin theatres have been demolished.

In July 1971 a five screen theatre opened inside the mall which is now a Comedy Club and has its own seperate page on Cinema Treasures.

I saw Back to the Future at this theatre, and it is the only movie I ever saw there! Amazing that the photo is from EXACTLY that time period
