In the 1940’s, movie houses were beginning to show up in the shopping centers that were popping up all around the Baltimore area. Middle River was where much of the war efforts in aricraft development were undergoing at Martin Marietta, and the Aero Theatre named after the nearby plant opened May 30, 1942 with Charlie Chaplin in “The Gold Rush” and “Cavalcade of Aviation”.
It was closed July 1, 1977 and became a country music venue, which failed. It appears that it was used as a warehouse for years before being torn down. The site is currently a supermarket and the old theater building has been completely razed.

I saw many a James Bond Flick there and Rollerball. SInce I worked for Hank Vogel. I got in free in the 70’s. Not a bad theater.
