The Shamrock Drive-In was opened on May 12, 1950 with Edmund O'Brien in “Fighter Squadron” & Bill Williams in “Blue Grass of Kentucky”. It was closed in 1954.
It reopened as the Spartan Drive-In on June 15, 1955 with Tyrone Power in “The Long Gray Line” & Robert Francis in “The Bamboo Prison”. It was operated by L.C. Hallonquist and General Theatrical Co. It was closed in 1976 and is now a business park.

Same location, wonder what happened? Boxoffice, Jan. 14, 1950: “A permit has been issued to construct a $31,100 drive-in at First and Alma streets in San Jose, to be built by Daley Bros. of San Francisco for the Shamrock Amusement Co. The drive-in will be on the circus grounds property.”
The Shamrock Drive-In opened on May 12th, 1950, and closed in 1954. It reopened as the Spartan Drive-In on June 15th, 1955. 1950 and 1955 grand opening ads posted.
