Located on Route 49 to the north of Jackson, MS. The 49 Drive-In was opened on June 28, 1952 with Jackie Robinson in “The Jackie Robinson Story. It was an African-American drive-in and was operated by George Tripp Jr. It had closed by 1955. Now a vacant lot. Medgar Evers Boulevard used to be part of Highway 49.

It appears to have been a mobile home park that is now out of business. A 1960 aerial photo shows the drive-in appearing to be demolished, so it did not have a long life.

The 49 Drive-In was an African-American drive-in, and opened its gates on June 28, 1952 with Jackie Robinson in “The Jackie Robinson Story” with no extra short subjects. Indeed it was short-lived as it was closed after two or three seasons.
