The address in the heading is incorrect. THE MIDWAY DRIVE-IN was on U.S. 90 in Westlake, “midway” between Lake Charles and Sulphur.

Same drive-in? The Independent Film Journal reported on April 4, 1953: “Owners Guidry and Duplisses will also open their 900-car Surf Drive-In, Lake Charles, around April 15, for year-round operation and 3 to 6 changes weekly."

Still operating in 1969, but was completely gone by 1981, meaning that it closed during the 1970s.

The Midway launched Feb. 26, 1951 with “Summer Stock” (ad in photos). It was still being used for church services in 1972. It maps to: 3610 Highway 90 Westlake, LA 70669
