In Boulogne sur Mer near the North Sea, in the district of Nord pas de Calais, there is one cinema with 7 screens, equipped with new technology, projection 3D, digital projection, programming the new family production and blockbusters, but also art house films. The Cinema les Stars was opened in the early-1980’s.

One of the oldest cinema in the city was the Kursaal in the main street Rue Victor Hugo which has been closed for a long time. The first movie projection in the city was on the site now called Commercial Center Lyane.
