Located on the corner of Sturt Street and Blackwood Street. The 5-screen Event Cinemas Townsville City opened in 1990 on the site of the Townville Twins (aka as Forum & Odeon which have their own page on Cinema Treasures). It was closed in early-October 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. By April 2021 the building was ‘For Sale’,

Opened in 1990. 1421 seats.
Opened(date unknown? as two different cinemas(same building), Forum and Odeon(each with it’s own entrance). Later called Townsville Twin(date unknown?). Demolished in 1990 to make way for a new cinema building(BCC4, later BCC5(opening in 1990), now Event Cinemas Townsville City). Cinema 1 – 551 seats, cinema 2 – 240 seats, screen 3 – 200 seats, cinema 4 – 230 seats, screen 5 – 200 seats.
Closed in early october 2020. Possibly for sale?
The old Townsville Twins was partially demolished for the building of the Event Cinemas building.
