Greater Union Drive-In

Located in Erina, 4 miles to the east of Gosford, NSW. The Erina Drive-In was built in 1957, opening on 7th February 1958 with Stewart Granger in “Green Fire”. It is the last known cinema to be designed by Sydney based architect Aaron M. Bolot. It was operated by Coast Theatres Property Ltd.

It went through a couple of name changes and operators and was finally taken over by the Greater Union chain and re-named Greater Union Drive-In.

The Greater Union Drive-In was closed on 27th March 1985 with “The Terminator” and “First Blood”. It stood derelict for the next seven years until it was demolished in 1992 and the site became a car park for the Erina Fair shopping centre.
