This was built by the Walt Disney company to show its IMAX movie, Fantasia 2000. It was a tented temporary theatre which opened on January 1st, 2000 and closed April 30th, 2000.
The Cinemark 18 and XD Los Angeles opened on the site on July 13, 2001 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).

I remember this temp theater. It was on a plot of land near LAX. Alongside the freeway. It was a giant, tent that showed the feature. Sound and image were terrific. I saw the feature twice.
It was later replaced by the theater complex that had an IMAX screen of it’s own.
This was operated by Edwards Cinemas for Disney.
