Hoyts Regent Gardiner

Located in the west Melbourne district of Gardiner/Glen Iris at the corner of Malvern Road and Glenvale Road. The 1,574-seat Regent Theatre, Gardiner was opened by Associated Theatres Property Ltd. (soon to be taken over by Hoyts Theatres) on 23rd September 1925. Seating was provided in stalls and circle levels.

Hoyts closed the Regent Gardiner Theatre on 14th February 1959 with Clark Gable in “Rub Silent, Run Deep” & Burt Lancaster in “Monkey On My Back”. It has since been demolished and an office block now stands on the site.
