The Latham Circle Mall 9 was opened by Hoyts Theaters on December 15, 1989. The theatre closed in 2013 as one of the last tenants in a long dead mall. It was located on it’s own 2nd level on the far end of the mall next to a JC Penny’s. Another screen was added later.
Redevelopment plans called for the theatre to be saved along with a small section of the mall that included the still surviving JC Penny’s but both chains pulled the plug and close while the other part of the mall was being demolished. Both the theatre and JC Penny’s have since been demolished as well.

The plans for the new Shoppes at Latham include a new cinema. They tear down an entire mall and rebuild a new one. What kind of sense is that? Uploaded a photo of the facade from the Roger Katz collection.
