Terminale Cinema d'Essai

Located in the historic walled centre of Prato, in the Tuscany region of northern Italy, the Terminale Cinema D'Essai originally opened on 28th January 1984.

In 2011, it was taken over by a group of young film enthusiasts who were saddened that so many traditional cinemas had closed. The cinema is now run by a co-operative, “Casa del Cinema di Prato” providing a meeting place for education, development and provision of initiatives, projects and cultural products.

The building includes a cinema auditorium with 256 seats and a video room with 60 seats. These spaces are used for conferences, meetings, concerts and other initiatives, including non-film related activity.

The Terminale is part of the Europa Cinemas network.
