Located in Kilkenny, County Kilkenny. The 1,000-seat Savoy Cinema was opened in 1937 with “Anthony Adverse”. It had a 26ft wide proscenium, a 10ft deep stage and one dressing room. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. The Savoy Cinema was closed in March 1985 with “Ghostbusters”.
In 1993 it reopened as the Watergate Theatre for live performances.

The Savoy opened in 1936 with “Anthony Adverse” and closed in March 1985 with Ghostbusters. Jack Parle was projectionist here for 36 years. The Watergate Theatre has occupied the building since 1993. The total capacity is 328 seats (253 downstairs and 75 in the balcony).
