The Village Cinema was opened in 1976 as the West End Twin. Around 1987 it was re-named Village Twin. It remained a twin screen cinema until the late-1990’s when it was expanded to 7-screens and re-named Village Cinemas.

Opened in 1976 as West End Twin(back to back). Renamed Village Twin in(circa 1987?). Expended to 7 screens in 1988, and renamed Village Cinemas.
The 5 extra screens were not added until the late 1990’s.
Was still a twin in 1995.
