The Grant Drive-In opened May 15, 1952, with Burt Lancaster in “Ten Tall Men".
Glen L. Harris designed the 400-car theater with two glass-faced 200-seat auditoriums, located above the snack bar and on either side of the projection booth.
According to listings in the Daily Times, the Bullington, Lee & McMahon Theatre Company, at one time or another operated the Grant Drive-In, Seymour Road Drive-In, Scottic Drive-In, Twin Falls Drive-In and Twin Shepard Drive-In.
The Grant Drive-In was out of the local theater listing after December 12, 1964.

The Nov. 22, 1952 issue of Boxoffice included a photo of the Grant’s twin auditoriums “air conditioned for summer, heated for winter use. The projection booth is between the two auditoriums.”
The Exhibitor, Sept. 10, 1952: “Charles E. Darden, Associated Popcorn Distributors, Inc., reported that the highlight of his trip into west Texas was his stop at the Grant Drive-In, Wichita Falls, which has a second story viewing room, and which does walk-in business from a residential area."
